A recent trip to Charleston inspired this painting of the lower level of Drayton Hall. This pre-revolutionary war mansion was very impressive, and the servant level had the most amazing light source. I could just imagine a young milkmaid gazing out this window at the base of the stairs, looking across the expansive front lawn.
